Pan Fried Radicchio with Lemon & Capers

Research shows that bitter foods, like radicchio, can improve motility (helps the muscles in your gastrointestinal tract get things moving) as well as slow down food transiting too quickly from your stomach into the small intestine. ⁠Meaning…we stay fuller for longer as well as helping ease digestion further downstream in our digestive tract. ⁠

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 large head of radicchio
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Juice of half a large lemon
  • 1 tbsp of capers, drained
  • Salt and pepper to taste

METHOD

Split the head of radicchio in half and pan fry in olive oil for 5 minutes on both sides⁠

While frying, pour over the lemon, add the crushed garlic as well as the capers – wait until the radicchio softens and caramelises slightly⁠.

Serve as the perfect side dish – or main if you’re after a purely bitter hit!⁠
