If you’re feeling a bit fuzzy headed and lacking energy as you step back into reality after the summer break, then a small reset is perfect. Read on for my top four reset tips to get back into the swing of things this month.
– Lunch tends to draw the short straw when it comes to nutritious choices as we often find ourselves short on time. To solve this, prepare an extra dinner serving for the next day’s lunch, saving time and as an added bonus, some money too.
– This month try to diversify breakfast and try a few new options: perhaps overnight oats, porridge with fresh fruit, a smoothie, or even an egg, spinach and tomato scramble. Whatever you opt for, make sure to aim for a solid source of protein as that will keep you fuller for longer until lunch.
– Take a daily walk in nature. We are spoiled for choice in the UK with plenty of excellent walking routes accessible from most places even including London. Research has shown that a walk after a meal can benefit better blood sugar management, support stress reduction, and improve digestion.
– Go for more greens. Dark leafy greens are some of the most nutritious veg you can add into your diet. Aim to incorporate a serve (about a handful) of dark leafy greens like spinach, swiss chard, rocket, or kale into your daily meals for some added nutrition. My favourite way to enjoy them: wilt down in a pan with olive oil, garlic, and a squeeze of lemon. Delicious!
